2 Ragdolls @ shelter in Chatsworth, California

Postby Bonrahi » Saturday, 13 February 2010, 5:16 PM

There are two Ragdoll cats at the West Valley shelter in Chatsworth, California. Animal control has mislabled them as Himalayan. It looks like these were an Owner Surrender because they were immediately available for adoption.

You can see them on-line from this link:
http://www.laanimalservices.com/animalidsearch.htm

and typing in the Animal ID number.

This could also be a Ragdoll kitten - hard to tell from the photo:

I went by the shelter today - "Bubba", the male got adopted! The female is still there. I did not see the kitten - he looks very young so they may have had him out for fostering or in the hospital area in the back. The shelter was very busy today - the city is having reduced priced adoptions through Sunday, Feb. 14th.

The female, "Rosie" is very sweet but seems very sad. I was able to pet her and she rubbed her head against my hand and made biscuits with her paws. Her fur is more like a Himmie so she could be a mix, but she definately has face of a Ragdoll and not Himmie. I wish I could take her home but that is just not possible right now.

If anyone is in or near the San Fernando Valley, if you go to the shelter tomorrow, you can get a gorgeous sweet cat for a reduced adoption fee!

Awwww, she doesn't even have her brother anymore. She needs loving! She has the sweetest face. I'm glad the boy got adopted and I'm crossing my fingers for Rosie. And the baby kitten too.

I think the kitten will be okay - West Valley shelter doesn't put the really young kittens out for the public right away. Most people who go there are looking for kittens so when they do put him out, he'll probably get adopted quickly.

Meanwhile, I see that another female Ragdoll is at the North Central Shelter:

Go to the same link and type in Animal ID#A1091493

My name is Chiquita and I am a spayed female, brown and white Ragdoll.
The shelter thinks I am about 6 years old.
I weigh approximately 12 pounds.
I have been at the shelter since Feb 14, 2010

She's already available for adoption which means she must be an Owner Surrender ON VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
North Central can have a high kill rate, so if you know anyone in Los Angeles that would like a Ragdoll, please have them check her out1

Update on the Ragdolls:

The kitten is no longer listed so I hope that means she got adopted.

Rosie is still there, and Chiquita has been moved from the North Central to the West Valley shelter. That is good news as I think the West Valley has one of the highest adoption rates. At the end of last week, they only had about 23 cats total. I know that they take other cats from the more crowded shelters.

Still - both of these ladies need a home!
